William L. Gunnells III has an extensive career in the healthcare insurance field.
Considered a leading expert in the analysis, design, and implementation of employee benefit and self-funded programs for over 20 years, Bill is the Founder and President of RxBenefits, Inc., overseeing all self-funded and financial operations. His range of expertise extends through the broad spectrum of insurance and financial services. A graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration, Bill has worked as a securities consultant before focusing in the area of prescription drug management. His extensive experience in both RxBenefits and within the industry has given him the ability to grow from a small business to a national company. When Bill is not busy working, he splits his time between his hobbies of backpacking and flying, and his family. He is the proud father of five children and six grandchildren. He resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife, Elizabeth.
Throughout his 19 year career in employee benefits in the healthcare industry, Bryan Statham has performed various operational roles as well as directed high level sales and account management. He has provided exceptional leadership to high performance sales teams across all commercial market segments, including small business, middle market, large groups, the public sector, and also has experience in the government programs segment (Medicare/Medicaid).
Bryan began his career working in an entrepreneurial business within Complete Health, a leader in the Health Maintenance Organization industry. Complete Health was subsequently acquired by UnitedHealthCare. He led and operated the proposal development and account services division for the Southeast market within this organization. At UnitedHealthcare, as Director of Sales for the Alabama market, Bryan was instrumental in cultivating and growing the health plan within the State and retaining a large base of fully insured and self-insured business. In 2005, Bryan was asked by leadership to participate in the development of a Public Sector strategic growth initiative for UnitedHealthcare, which evolved into a free standing business segment. Bryan took on a role as Vice President of Sales for the segment in the Southeast.
In 2005, Bryan left UnitedHealthcare to become a managing partner and Vice President of Business Development for Prescription Benefits, Inc., a PBM focused on strategic pharmacy and trend management.
Bryan Statham and his wife Andria, reside in Mountain Brook, Alabama, and they have three boys, Will, Brooks, and Grey.
Throughout his 29 year career in the health care industry, Richard Wheeler has directed sales, account management and marketing efforts in some of the toughest competitive markets in the country, including Texas, Florida, and Illinois. He has provided exceptional leadership to high performance sales teams across all commercial market segments, including small business, middle market, large group, public sector, and also has experience in the government programs segment (Medicare/Medicaid). He joined UnitedHealthcare in 1999 after 20 years at Humana, where his most recent position with Humana was Regional Vice President of Large Group Sales for half of the United States.
At UnitedHealthcare, as Senior Vice President of Sales for the Illinois market, Wheeler was instrumental in returning the Illinois health plan to profitable growth in every line of business, after three consecutive years of significant membership declines. After 10 short months, he was promoted to Regional Vice President of Key Account Sales in the Midwest. In 2003, Wheeler was asked by senior leadership to lead the development of a Public Sector strategic growth initiative for UnitedHealthcare, which evolved into a free standing business segment. He initially took on a role as Regional Vice President of Sales for the segment, and in 2004 was promoted as National Vice President of Public Sector Sales. Under Wheeler's leadership, the segment grew from 800,000 covered lives in 2003 to 3.6 million in early 2007.
In 2007, Wheeler left UnitedHealthcare to form Richard Wheeler & Associates, Inc., a health care consulting practice focused on strategic sales/growth consulting and business development. In April 2008, Wheeler joined Prescription Benefits, Inc., as a managing partner and National Vice President of Corporate Development.
Richard Wheeler and his wife Nancy reside in Orlando, Florida, and have two grown children, Robert and Courtney.
Throughout her 30 year career in the healthcare industry, Cynthia Johnson has been involved in all aspects of the managed care business. She has directed sales and account management teams in small, mid-market and large accounts throughout the Southeast. In 2007 she joined Prescription Benefits, Inc., in Birmingham, Alabama as the Vice President of Account Management. In 2008, Cynthia became a managing partner of PBI. Her responsibilities include sales and account management of carved-out prescription drug programs, telemedicine physician services and wellness plans. Prescription Benefits is a trend management company working with self-insured employers throughout the country.
Cynthia is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Health Services Administration. She resides in Mt. Laurel, Alabama. She is the proud mother of four grown children, Matthew, Keith, Anthony, and Haley.
